Speak offers various modes so you can learn anytime, anywhere — easily and comfortably. You can take lessons without touching the screen or when you’re unable to speak, so you can keep learning wherever you are.
These features make it easier and more convenient to use Speak more often!
🎙️ Hands-Free Mode
Hands-Free mode allows you to take lessons without touching the screen, available in both Speaking Practice and Real Conversations.
When Hands-Free mode is on, you can practice conversations without tapping “Next.” In other words, you can keep learning naturally without touching your phone!
⚙️ How to use Hands-Free mode
During a lesson, tap the Hands-Free button in the top right corner.
When the button turns blue and displays “On,” the feature is activated.
You can turn Hands-Free mode on or off anytime as needed.
🤫 “I Can’t Speak” Mode
“I Can’t Speak” mode helps you continue learning even in places where it’s hard to speak, like on the subway.
This mode is available only in Today’s Lesson, and Speak’s model pronunciation will speak for you.
⚙️ How to use “I Can’t Speak” mode
During a lesson, tap the Can't speak now toggle in the top right corner.
When the toggle turns blue, the feature is activated.
You can turn Can't speak now on or off anytime as needed.
🎧 What other lessons can I take when I can’t speak?
Even when you can’t speak, you can still keep learning with Speak in different ways!
Free Talk: Keep the conversation going using Typing Mode.
In Free Talk, tap the keyboard icon (⬆️) to switch to Typing Mode and type your responses instead of speaking.
Smart Review: Use Listening Mode to quietly review your lessons.
Perfect for quiet places or while on the go — focus on listening without speaking!
Jump-in Lesson: Learn lightly through short quiz-based lessons.
Ideal for situations where speaking out loud isn’t possible, but you still want to study.
