📰 Overview
Tutor Lessons are a new way to practice in Speak — like having a 1-on-1 session with a personal language tutor. You’ll get natural explanations, personalized feedback, and a flexible pace so you can focus on your speaking goals.
In a Tutor Lesson, a friendly tutor guides you through an open conversation to:
🧠 Build confidence in real-world topics
🗣️ Practice tricky grammar or vocabulary
🎯 Get responses tailored to what you say
You’ll still get voice practice, corrections, and repetition—but in a more open, supportive format.
Who Can Access Tutor Lessons?
English speakers learning Japanese, Korean, and Italian can tap Level (top left of Home) → choose Elementary or Intermediate. Look for lessons with the Tutor icon in your Home or Course path.
✨ What’s New: Tutor Lesson v2 in beta
⚠️ This experience is currently in beta and not yet available to all learners. If you’re interested in joining, please email us at [email protected].
We’ve designed Tutor Lesson v2 to feel even more like a real 1-on-1 tutoring session. Instead of following a fixed script, you can enjoy a natural, back-and-forth conversation — asking questions, getting clarifications, and guiding the discussion toward what you want to learn.
💡 The more you interact, the more tailored the lesson becomes. Try asking in everyday language:
“Can you say that again, more slowly?”
“Can you give me a hint?” or “I can’t remember.”
“Can I use this phrase in other contexts?”
“How do I say <word or phrase> in Korean?”
“Can you explain that concept a bit more?”
🆕 Tutor Lesson v2 also supports Background mode (Live Activity), perfect for fitting practice into your day without breaking your focus. You can now:
Keep your tutor conversation going while using other apps
Listen to responses without keeping Speak open
Jump back into the lesson anytime
