📰 Overview
Speak lets you create your own lessons directly in your new learning path! This feature, also known as the Personalized Learning Loop, helps you practice patterns you just learned on topics that are most relevant to your goals, interests, or real-life situations.
As you move through your course, you’ll now see an option called “Create your own lessons” in certain units. This gives you the chance to build custom content based on what you’ve just learned. It’s 100% optional—if you prefer to skip it, you can continue your path as usual.
Whether you're preparing for a trip, practicing job interview questions, or just want to talk about your favorite hobbies, you can shape the lesson to match your needs.
🔄 How It Works
Here’s what happens when you tap Create your own lessons:
Step 1: Answer a few quick questions
A friendly, chat-style flow will ask about your interests, goals, or the situations you'd like to practice. You’ll see a progress bar as you go.
Step 2: Preview your responses
Once you finish, you’ll get a visual summary of what you shared. You can confirm or delete anything before generating lessons.
Step 3: Get personalized lessons
Speak will automatically create a personalized loop directly within your current course with custom lessons tailored to your answers.
Step 4: Start learning!
Tap the lesson to begin speaking. You can revisit, delete, or redo the personalization experience anytime.
💡 Pro Tip: How to Get the Best Custom Lesson
The more specific you are, the better your lesson will be! If we don’t get enough input, we may ask you to try the survey again. To get the most personalized results:
Share detailed answers about what you want to learn
Include real-life situations, interests, or topics you care about
Don’t worry about grammar—just express yourself clearly!
Think of it like telling your tutor what you’d like to practice—the more you share, the better we can help.
🤔 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I skip the personalized lesson?
Yes! The “Create your own lessons” step is completely optional. If you skip or exit it, your course progress continues as normal.
Can I re-personalize these custom lessons?
Yes! You can choose to “Start over” or “Update your answers” anytime to generate a new set of lessons. This will replace your previous responses and overwrite the existing custom lessons.
Can I delete a custom lesson?
You can. Deleting your responses will also remove the associated custom lessons from your path.
Can I recover these lessons after I’ve deleted them?
No. Once you “start over” or delete these lessons, they’re permanently removed. Any saved lines or phrases from those lessons will also be deleted.
Will this work for all courses?
Not yet—this feature is currently available in select courses and is gradually rolling out to more.
Where to find the Create Your Own Lessons option?
Look for the “Create your own lessons” loop in your home or course path. These appear in select units and are shown as a speech bubble—just like other lessons.
Why don’t I see this option yet?
Make sure your app is updated to the latest version. This feature is still in beta and is currently only available in specific courses.
